Amazon Games will develop and publish a massively multiplayer online (MMO) game based on the “Lord of the Rings” novel. The game will be an open-world MMO adventure set in Middle-earth, telling beloved stories from the literary works of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
The game is in the early stages of production, with the participation of Amazon Games Orange County, the studio behind the open-world MMO New World, the company’s first success “after many failures and difficulties on the playground.” . The game is in development for PC and Console.
