Arkane released a "deep digging" video about Redfall

The latest Redfall intro video was released as part of Bethesda’s ongoing QuakeCon event. The 20-minute video gave fans plenty of insight shared by the team behind the game, including studio head Harvey Smith, creative director Ricardo Bare, art director Karen Segars, and producer Aaron Carter.

Redfall is an open world FPS game with its own story with 2 game modes: solo and cooperative for up to four people. In Redfall, players will fight to defeat a legion of vampires who are cutting off the ancient island city of Redfall, Massachusetts from the outside world.

“Redfall is an attempt to take advantage of what Arkane does well, a mix of FPS and RPG, while also getting out of your comfort zone a bit,” said Smith. Is this possible in the open world, as well as in solo and co-op modes? Can we use all our stories, improvisations and styles for an open world?”

Creative Director Mr. Bare shared, “The reason I love developing these types of games is because I love playing them and that’s why I also love TRPG (Tabletop RPG). I want to witness and then “play” with some scenes, interact with many things. For example, let vampires break free or plant explosives, kill them from afar, find a way into a cult stronghold and discover interesting things.”
