The newest item in the Back 4 Blood open beta is a PvP mode called “Swarm.” In Swarm mode, 8 players split evenly into two teams and participate in three games alternating between the Ridden and Human mutant factions. The beta will have two maps for this mode and will bring six different Ridden variants, including: Bruiser, Retch, Hocker, Exploder, Crusher, and Stinger.
In addition to Swarm mode, the open beta also features notable content such as missions, two new co-op maps, and the Fort Hope hub. The beta brings most of the content that will appear in the final version of Back 4 Blood.
Back 4 Blood marks Turtle Rock Studios’ return to the game genre that made its name. Left 4 Dead is a typical representative of games that provide the best multiplayer experience thanks to competitive missions that require flexible coordination between players. Therefore, it is understandable that the “junior” Back 4 Blood has similar elements to Left 4 Dead.
The open beta begins on August 5 and will run until August 9 on Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4 and PC for players who have pre-ordered. Players who do not pre-order still have the opportunity to participate by registering on the Back 4 Blood website here. The open beta will continue from August 12 to 16. The beta supports cross-platform and cross-console gaming. Back 4 Blood will officially launch on October 12 on Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4 and PC.
