Bethesda Softworks VP Pete Hines has said that Elder Scrolls 6 is indeed in production, confirming that the sequel to the popular role-playing game has finished its concept phase and entered early development. With Starfield drawing closer, fans are ready to explore a whole new world from the creators of Fallout, ESO, Oblivion, and more.
Elder Scrolls 6 was announced by director Todd Howard back in 2018 and it’s been over 5 years since the first short trailer for the game debuted. Obviously, Bethesda was pretty busy around this time and the buildings and cities in Starfield are proof of that. But that doesn’t mean Elder Scrolls 6 has been neglected. On the contrary, the VP of Bethesda Softworks said that this open-world game is officially in development.

Hines explained that Bethesda has assigned developers to the Elder Scrolls 6 project, but that Starfield is their current focus: βYes, someone is working on Elder Scrolls 6 but Starfield is the studio’s big interest. We have concentrated the resources of all the studios to make this game the best quality.β When asked about the development status of Elder Scrolls 6, Mr. Hines said, “The game is in development, but it’s in the early stages.”
According to the first trailer, Elder Scrolls 6 will likely revolve around Hammerfell, home of the Redguards. Alternatively, this could be High Rock, home of the Bretons. Fans will have to wait a bit longer for new information on Elder Scrolls 6, but the scale of Starfield could be big enough to make the wait even more interesting.
