CSGO AK-47 skin was successfully sold for 377 million

On March 13, a wealthy Chinese collector made a historic purchase on the CSGO skin market, acquiring ownership of a super rare AK-47 skin for $160,000 USD. This is just one of the highest value skin sales in gaming history and there are still even more expensive skins on the market.

Still, it remains a monumental transaction because such purchases are relatively few and available almost exclusively to the world’s wealthiest collectors. The value of the CSGO AK-47 skin is a solid contender for the top spot and this may not be the last time it appears.

This CSGO AK-47 skin is called “Wild Lotus”, it appears in the game since 2019 and at the time of sale it has the status of “Factory New”. When ranking CSGO skins, the newer the skin, the more valuable it is. It is estimated that there are fewer than 3,000 skins in this state currently in circulation.

In the case of Wild Lotus, its value is around $10,000 USD. Before the skin was included in the trade, the previous owner had attached four “Reason Holo” stickers obtained from the Katowice CSGO Major 2014. This is one of the most legendary eSports tournaments in the CSGO world and each sticker has a value approximately $40,000 USD. Thanks to the value of the skin, the extra decals, and the fact that the entire outfit is so rare and amazing, a wealthy Chinese collector bought it for $160,000 USD in a public transaction.

However, this is not the end for this skin. Typically, collectors will loan skins to famous pro players when they take the stage at the biggest esports tournaments in the CSGO ecosystem. In this way, more people will know about the skin and its value may even increase.
