After weeks of waiting, CD Projekt RED has finally released a new trailer for Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty and set the release date for the expansion. After one of the worst debuts in the history of the video game industry, Cyberpunk 2077 has “turned around” through many updates and has become what fans have come to expect. This change not only attracts more players, but also helps CD Projekt RED reach its highest level of revenue in the third quarter of 2022.
During the recent Xbox Games Showcase event, actor Keanu Reeves took the stage again to present the latest trailer for Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. The trailer shares a bit more context as to why V shook hands with the President at a new location called Dogtown. Specifically, V will have a chance to save himself if he cooperates with NUSA to save the president. In a race against time, V tries to complete the mission with the help of allies like Solomon Reed.
The trailer also confirms the expansion’s release date. Fans can return to Cyberpunk 2077 starting on September 26, 2023. Once the release date is announced, the game will likely receive more frequent updates before launch. By removing legacy platforms like PS4 and Xbox One, CD Projekt RED can improve the experience a bit more both in terms of visual design and gameplay mechanics. The developer also confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty has the highest investment budget of any of its products.
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty will be released on September 26, 2023 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
