Dead Island 2 Releases a Gameplay Trailer to Introduce the Open World of Los Angeles

Dead Island 2 has released a new trailer that shows off the gameplay features as it takes players on a “tour” through another version of the city of Los Angeles. Following the news of the “umpteenth” release of Dead Island 2 last month, the recent unveiling has somewhat satisfied fans’ curiosity about the game’s content.

Since it was first announced at E3 in 2014, Dead Island 2 has been through a rough patch of development, with multiple release schedule changes and near-cancellations. The new story, set in California, marks a departure from previous installments in the series and is a first-person role-playing game filled with zombies and action sequences. In the new trailer, players will join Jacob and Amy, two of Dead Island 2’s six playable characters, on a dangerous but equally dramatic tour of Los Angeles.

In the Los Angeles version of Hell-A built by Deep Silver and Dambuster Studios, the player follows Jacob, one of the game’s playable characters, to locations such as beaches, houses, and zombie-filled streets. Jacob carries a spanner and cane as he explores the town and introduces the player to the remaining survivors. The second part of the trailer is narrated by Amy, another playable character. In its segment, Army gave players the ability to fight in Dead Island 2. Players will have many different ways to take out zombies such as bare hands, slashing, kicking, stomping, burning, and using weapons. The game also allows the player to use a variety of weapons like katana, machete, sword, baseball bat, various hammers, and claws. Additionally, players can also choose to use DIY weapons and z-power (the kind of power that is awakened after being bitten by a zombie).
