Detective Pikachu 2 or officially known as Detective Pikachu Returns was finally revealed at the recent Nintendo Direct event. Nintendo announced the game’s release date on October 6 with a trailer showing a colorful 3D Pokémon world where Tim Goodman and Detective Pikachu team up on another adventure.
In Detective Pikachu Returns, the detective duo will explore a city full of mysteries. Detective Pikachu still maintains his love for coffee in this game. Nintendo describes the game as follows: “Explore the roots of great detective Pikachu. Team up with tough-talking, coffee-loving Pikachu and call himself a great detective, to unravel many mysteries in Ryme City. With the help of many other Pokémon, Tim Goodman and Pikachu will work together to solve a series of mysterious incidents in this adventure game.”
The last time fans were told about Detective Pikachu was in September 2022, when several newspapers reported that a senior game programmer at Creatures Inc was working on an upcoming project, Detective Pikachu 2. The first Detective Pikachu title was released. on 3DS in 2018 and it is an adventure game that follows the Pokémon series and focuses more on the story.
