Don’t Starve turned ten last week and the game is at its highest point since its release. This is one of the most “lived” games in the cooperative survival genre. The number of players for Don’t Starve Together on Steam skyrocketed over the weekend as the game was heavily discounted and after many new content updates, old players returned.
Previously, the game’s highest number of online co-players was 68,418 during the May 2019 free event, where many players tried out the game with friends. As of 2019, Don’t Starve Together has never returned to the 60,000 mark, though the game’s average player count has slowly increased over the years.

However, Don’t Starve Together set a new record with 107,998 concurrent players on Steam on April 30. This is a huge jump from the number recorded just a day ago of 96,046, surpassing the performance of 2019.
One of the reasons for the increase in player numbers is the heavily discounted current price of the game, Don’t Starve Together is on sale for $1.49 / £1.09 (90% off) with a copy so players can gift to your friends. It is this incentive that has helped the game attract a lot of players of late.
