On December 7th, Avatar fans will be able to experience the world of Pandora from Massive Entertainment. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will take players on a third-person adventure as they explore the beautiful forests of Pandora on the back of an ikran. The game also has first-person perspective gameplay as players engage in gunfights that have a lot of similarities to Far Cry. Furthermore, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora also allows players to play with friends thanks to online cooperative support.
Along with the gameplay overview, Avatar fans were also able to check out a trailer that reveals more about the plot of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. The game is set on the planet’s western frontier, an area unexplored in the Avatar movies thus far. Players will control one of the many Na’vi created by the RDA. The RDA then began to slaughter the Na’vi, but the player character and several others were saved and put into hibernation. After 15 years, the player character is freed and begins a new life on Pandora.
Since it was created by the RDA, players must relearn what it means to be a Na’vi. The initial quests will allow the player to interact with the Na’vi tribes and learn things like how to bond with the ikran. Similar to how the Na’vi in the movie connect to their Magic Tree, the player character can also connect to the planet and thus enhance their abilities.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora truly represents what is advertised. This is an open world Avatar game in the style of many other open world games on Ubisoft. Time will tell if the game can live up to James Cameron’s Avatar movies, but Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora certainly has the potential to do so. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is out December 7 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
