Korean news site MTN reports that Sony is working with game developer and publisher NCSoft to carry out an MMO project in the Horizon universe. According to the article, the new game is called “Project H” in job advertisements.
NCSoft is the creator of the Lineage and Guild Wars MMO franchises. The above news partly explains Sony’s search for a developer to create an MMO game, especially in the context of Sony’s plans to include many live service games in its game slate.
As for Guerilla Games, the developer has long been experimenting with the idea of adding a multiplayer element to the Horizon series. However, the plan to bring co-op to Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West did not materialize.
Currently, many sources claim that Project H is a mobile MMO thanks to various job offers from developer Guerrilla Games. Last year, before the release of Horizon Forbidden West, Guerrilla was looking for people with MMORPG experience. And recently, the PlayStation branch in Amsterdam is hiring a senior producer and production manager for a mobile game. In addition, the job listing also includes the position of a Korean interpreter.
Currently, the only Horzion game confirmed to be in development is Call of the Mountain, a virtual reality game that allows players to take on the role of the warrior Ryas.
