Newly released mobile game Douluo Mainland has been accused of plagiarizing Final Fantasy

Last weekend, Douluo Mainland: Soul Master Against Decision, the mobile game from developer 37Games, just released a new teaser trailer for the game. However, not long after, the Soul Master Opponent trailer was criticized by many gamers for plagiarism.

Released on July 22, Douluo Mainland: Soul Master Duel is a potential 3D game adapted from the famous Douluo Mainland animated series. The game promises to recreate the classic and most anticipated episodes of the original IP, such as the death of Tieu Van or the battle at Gia Lang Quan; this is also the content of the latest trailer for the game.

This trailer immediately caused controversy because it was too similar to the footage from Final Fantasy 14: Shadowbringers. From the comparison video, it can be seen that the setting, actions, and appearance of the characters in Soul Master Duel are very similar to Shadowbringers, even the effects are quite similar, which makes the game community extremely outraged.

For those who don’t know, Final Fantasy 14: Shadowbringers is the third expansion pack for Final Fantasy 14, released by Square Enix in July 2019. Shadowbringers is set in First, a parallel dimension that is gradually approaching the apocalypse… Temporarily Neither 37Games nor Square Enix have commented on this suspicion of plagiarism.
