Despite a rocky start, Overwatch 2 player numbers have skyrocketed since the title’s launch on October 4. Blizzard says its free-to-play FPS game has now passed the 25 million player mark. The publisher decided to thank the community and celebrate the achievement by giving each player a weapon charm and a legendary skin.
Blizzard says Overwatch 2’s base players are more or less evenly spread across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Americas, and Asia regions, and continue to triple their maximum player levels from the first part.

Blizzard President Mike Ybarra said, “The release of Overwatch 2 is an important moment for Blizzard. We are excited to bring new players from around the world to the vibrant Overwatch universe as we welcome you to the Blizzard community.”
The thank you gift is the new Captain Cursed Legendary Reaper skin and a Healing Pack Weapon Charm. Players can claim the gift by logging into Overwatch 2 from October 25 until the end of the game’s first season.
