Blizzard shared more exciting Overwatch 2 stats during a recent live stream. The Beta phase of the game will begin on April 26. During the live stream, the developers also discussed previous internal testing and the future direction of the game.
The beta version will use the new 5v5 game mode. This game mode is an evolution on part 2 of its predecessor’s formula. Players will also be able to experience new content including debuting hero Sojourn along with a new game mode called Push. Push mode requires players to fight to control a robot and push it towards the enemy base. The beta version also introduces four new maps and the Ping system, and upgrades for four heroes: Orisa, Doomfist, Bastion, and Sombra.
Readers can sign up to participate in the closed beta on the Overwatch website. here. The beta phase is divided into several batches, so if fans are unable to participate in phase 1 (as of April 26), they can still sign up for future betas.
Blizzard recently announced alpha and beta testing with the news that the PvP mode has been decoupled from PvE. The developer has yet to confirm the release date of the game. Activision Blizzard has delayed the release of both Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4 with no indication that the two games will arrive before 2023.
