Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat has finally reached the final stages of preparation for a global release. Developer NebulaJoy recently released a trailer revealing the closed beta start date, as well as details about Nero, the character who first appeared as a playable character in Devil May Cry 4. The original Peak of Combat is called Devil May Cry Mobile and is being developed by NebulaJoy. under the direction of Capcom’s Devil May Cry development team.
The development of Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat began when NebulaJoy (or Yunchang Game) signed an agreement with Capcom to bring the action game of the Devil May Cry series to millions of mobile gamers. Capcom closely monitors the development process to ensure that the final product meets high quality standards. Since development began in 2017, NebulaJoy has run several closed betas, with an open beta for the Chinese market taking place in 2021. Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat is also open for registration. Closed beta for global release early this year, giving players the chance to participate and receive rewards regardless of whether they are selected or not.
According to the new trailer, the Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat closed beta will take place on March 23, 2023. The trailer also features an appearance by Nero and some eye-catching gameplay from future playable characters like Dante or Vergil. Devil May Cry is famous for its elegant fighting style and it seems that NebulaJoy is managing to bring this experience to the mobile market.
After this closed beta, a global open beta is likely to take place later this year, but NebulaJoy has yet to announce its plans. Devil May Cry has been hugely influential, and Capcom certainly wouldn’t have committed to developing a product that would hurt the franchise. The results and player experience during the closed beta phase will be an indication for NebulaJoy to assess the amount of work that needs to be completed before conducting the open beta and finally officially launching Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat.
