It’s been a month since Final Fantasy XIV stopped selling new accounts due to the overwhelming popularity of the Endwalker expansion, the game’s development team finally plans to bring one of the best MMOs on PC back to stores. In fact, FFXIV will be back on sale in less than two weeks.
In December, the expansion Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker finally came out. Endwalker received a standing ovation from the community and brought many veteran players back to the MMO, resulting in server validation failures and increased login queue times.
The situation got so bad that Square Enix was forced to suspend sales of Final Fantasy XIV accounts, losing a large number of new customers in the process. However, producer and director Naoki Yoshida has announced when this blockbuster MMO will return to the online store, which is January 25, 2022 at 12am PST / 3am EST / 8am GMT / 5pm JST (2 pm GMT+7).

The FFXIV development team also announced the reopening of the Oceania Data Center at the same time as the 5 worlds. Square Enix will be waiving regular server transfers for free to encourage players to move to the previous 5 worlds as they are brand new worlds. Server expansion to North America and Europe is planned for later this year, so last month’s server crash can finally be resolved.
