Psychic Tanks: the Chinese mobile game "lost" the legendary Gunbound

For gamers who grew up in the 90s, Gunbound by Softnyx (Korea) is one of the iconic online PC games and leaves many deep impressions and memories. Although this title still exists in one form or another with multiple copies, the once-familiar version 2.0 has been “missing” on the market for several decades. Recently, the Chinese indie game Psychic Tanks has attracted the attention of the gaming community because it has many features that are very similar to the once legendary Gunbound.

Psychic Tanks is considered to combine the usual RPG elements with action, such as the story, tons of tanks, and unique abilities that can be used to destroy enemies, weaknesses, and topographical formats. In addition, Psychic Tanks also has a huge gacha system. This game is currently in the Alpha testing phase to gather player feedback and fill in the limitations to release as soon as possible.

Gunbound can be considered as the first online game title officially launched in Vietnam in January 2004. With novel game style, high skill requirements, but extremely cute graphics, characters are designed with cute chibi; Gunbound quickly captured the love of 8x, 9x gamers at the time. A new term also emerged from this game: “chicken”, to refer to weak players.
