Developer Offworld Industries has announced Starship Troopers: Extermination, a 12-player first-person shooter, PvE, coming to PC. The game is inspired by the classic sci-fi movie released in 1997. Starship Troopers: Extermination is scheduled to release on Steam Early Access in 2023.
Starship Troopers: Extermination promises large-scale battles against the bugs featured in the film. Players will play as a soldier in the elite Deep Space Vanguard army in the role of one of three classes: Attack, Support, and Defense. New perks and gear are unlocked as players reach new levels in the continuous progression system.
The game will have a ping system similar to Titanfall to help players communicate more easily during firefights, when more dangerous insect swarms begin to appear and the threat level rises. Players also need to build and maintain their own defenses: build walls, ammo stations, observatories, etc.
