Steam Awards 2022 Announces Winning Games

From November 2022 to now, gamers have voted for their favorite games from the past year in 11 Steam Awards categories, and now the winners have been revealed.

It came as no surprise that Steam users decided FromSoftware’s Elden Ring was Game of the Year, beating out contenders Dying Light 2, God of War, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and the popular indie game Stray. Elden Ring also won in the “Best Game You Play Bad” category, which isn’t surprising given the many players who have been overpowered by Elden Ring’s challenging bosses. Another notable pick is Cyberpunk 2077, which won in the “Love Fruits” category thanks to the votes of gamers who were impressed by CD Projekt Red’s efforts to continue supporting the game with major updates and bug fixes post-launch.
