The 22-year-old organized an exhibition in commemoration of the deceased anime characters.

In addition to the fascinating plot, building good characters is an indispensable part of the success of an anime series. However, many of these attractive characters had unhappy endings, even losing their lives, making many fans cry. Recently, a Thai girl decided to organize an exhibition dedicated to these characters.

Jinnipha Nivasabut is 22 years old, currently a painter, and a passionate anime fan. Jinnipha organized the 2D Afterlife exhibition directly in her gallery with portraits of her beloved deceased anime characters. In particular, all these paintings are drawn by her own hands. Instead of the cartoon style like in anime films, Jennipha recreated these heroes in a dignified realistic style.

“In my memory, these characters are like real people. “They are like my family members, so I decided to draw these characters as realistically as possible.”

Below each portrait, Jennipha placed a small shelf that acts as an altar, allowing fans to place flowers and Fanta soda, a typical Thai offering, to commemorate the hero they loved. The young artist’s actions have received support from many anime fans. Assawawongkasem (19 years old) said that she felt that the pain of seeing her beloved character pass away was somewhat relieved by visiting this exhibition. The exhibition is being held at Palettee Artplace in Bangkok and is expected to end on August 3.
