The Witcher part 1 is being remade with Unreal Engine 5

CD Projekt announced that The Witcher Part 1 Remake is in production. According to the company, the remake will be rebuilt from scratch on Unreal Engine 5 at the hands of developers from the Fool’s Theory studio. This is also the workplace of the veteran employees who were involved in the development of the Witcher series.

CDPR also confirmed that this remake is the project they announced earlier this month as ‘Canis Majoris’: “It’s just getting started and we want to make sure the game is created with care. Care, attention to detail. So while we’re happy Before sharing this news with our fans, we need your patience as it will be a while before we can share information about this project in detail.”

CD Projekt Red boss Adam Badowski said: “The Witcher is where it all started for us, with CD Projekt Red. It was the first game we made and it was a big moment for us at the time. Returning to The Witcher and remaking the game for the next generation of gamers to experience is a huge project. Working with Fool’s Theory is also interesting because some of the staff here have been involved in creating The Witcher games. They know the game well, they know that players are always looking forward to the new version, and they know how to create amazing and ambitious games.”
