TinyBuild has been known to spend as much as $17.1 million to own Bad Pixel. Including Bad Pixel, this year alone the US publisher has acquired up to 5 game development studios: Animal, We Five Games, Hungry Couch and Moon Moose. There are still 3 months left until the end of the year, it is not clear if TinyBuild will close any more studios or not.
When asked about the reason for the Bad Pixel acquisition, Alex Nichiporchik, CEO of TinyBuild, answered candidly:
“I spent over 100 hours playing Deadside last year and I look forward to the developer bringing more new content and updates to the game.”

Deadside is today considered a potential Bad Pixel project. The game itself was announced in April 2020 and raised $3 million for the developer last year. In the near future, TinyBuild will cooperate with Bad Pixel to add new features and mechanics to this game.
