The Resident Evil Showcase provided plenty of information on the Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 4 Remake DLC and also delivered the launch trailer for the online multiplayer title Re:Verse.
Re:Verse is a third-person shooter game with two to six players. In Re:Verse, players transform into different characters from the Resident Evil series and defeat opponents in five-minute battles to the death. Upon death, the player is given the option to return to the match in the form of one of the series’ monstrous villains. Furthermore, the game also has an offline practice mode with bots.
The game also has a battle pass with more characters and levels added after launch. The original playable cast includes Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield, Leon S. Kennedy, Claire Redfield, Ada Wong, and HUNK (Umbrella’s greatest agent). Players must collect virus samples on the map (Raccoon City Police Department and Baker House) to transform into monsters like Fat Molded, Hunter Gamma, Jack Baker, Nemesis, or RE7’s Super Tyrant after being shot down.
According to the roadmap, Re:Verse’s first post-launch update will add a survivor, a new map, eight outfits, a challenge mission, and 30 more battle pass tiers. Later updates will add a survivor, more challenging levels, and more skins. The third update will add a new creature and 30 levels to the battle pass.
Re:Verse is available to all Resident Evil Village owners and across multiple platforms. The early access period begins on October 23 and ends on October 25.
